UA Accolades

The University of Arizona is a leader in campus sustainability and environmental research. Here are some of the recent accolades the UA has received, and be sure to check out the Life Cycle Assessment page to learn more about the data that Project Pawprint is producing.

The UA is listed among the top ten universities greening sport according to the Natural Resources Defense Council's (NRDC) August 2013 report, Collegiate Game Changers: How Campus Sport is Going Green.

The UA has participated in Sierra Magazine's Cool Schools Survey since 2012. Each year the UA has been within the top 25: 24th in 2012 and 23rd in 2013! Check out this year's list at Sierra Club's website.

 

First in the USA for Environmental Science Research

In February 2013, a report in the Journal Science of the Total Environment analyzing citation data of more than 180 journals found UA research to be among those most cited. Wildcats are making a mark through research. For more information check out the UANews story.

AASHE STARS Gold Rating Seal

In 2012, the UA participated in AASHE STARS, earning a Gold Rating for campus sustainability initiatives spanning the curriculum, student life, operations and planning.

 

The League of American Bicyclists awarded the UA a Silver rating in 2011. The UA is working hard to make campus as bicycle friendly as possible. Learn more from this UANews article.
