The UA Tech Park is home to cutting edge research and the Solar Zone. The Solar Zone is a test yard for hundreds of solar panels which provide solar power to the Tucson area and public information on the effectiveness of different models of solar panels in the desert environment of Tucson. In collaboration with TEP, through the Bright Energy Solutions Community Solar program, the UA will purchase energy produced at the Solar Zone to power this year’s Homecoming.
Role in Project Pawprint:
- Operate and maintain Solar Zone to produce solar energy. This energy can be purchased for use by the UA.
