The UA Alumni Association is a key partner in Project Pawprint. The Alumni Association is responsible for organizing Homecoming Weekend’s major events (i.e. UA Mall tailgate, parade, pep rally, etc.) and sets the theme for Homecoming every year. The Alumni Association also pushes information about Project Pawprint to vendors, event organizers and tailgaters about Homecoming. Thus, the Alumni Association plays a critical role in spreading the word about Project Pawprint to all the individuals and organizations that make Homecoming a blast to attend every year.
Role in Project Pawprint:
- Collaborates with UA Office of Sustainability to create a Homecoming theme that incorporates concepts of environmental sustainability and life cycle assessment while celebrating the efforts of the UA community.
- Pushing information to vendors, event organizers, and tailgaters regarding Homecoming environmental sustainability initiatives. This includes having the the Sustainable UA Exhibit as part of the "Tents on the Mall" tailgate festival.
Objectives Strategies Engaged In:
- Reducing Waste on the Mall
- Raising Awareness of Environmental Sustainability
Did you know that the UA Cactus Garden has been on campus since the Fall of 1891?! At one point in time it included the tallest boojum tree in Arizona and oldest in the United States.
